Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray used to be human, although not a very good one. When he wasn't happy being a human anymore, he decided to transfer his soul into a Good Guy Doll. He was then given to Andy Barclay for his 6th Birthday and the two quickly became good friends.

Being a doll had its draw-backs for Chucky though. He wasn't able to travel all that much, and he wanted to visit someone. He convinced Andy to take him to visit his old friend so he could have a nice talk with him.

Eventually though Chucky wanted to be human again, but he needed Andy to help him. Andy didn't want to help him though and Chucky didn't understand why. He decided to try harder in getting Andy to help him, but Andy still didn't want to help Chucky. Chucky then decided to try without Andy's help.

Andy resisted all the attempts Chucky made to persuade him to help and Chucky just couldn't do it by himself. He decided to try to find someone else to help him and eventually met up with his old girlfriend Tiffany. She would help him, but she wanted to be with him while they looked for a way to make him human. The only way Chucky knew to do that was to have her soul transferred to a bride doll.
