Kills teenagers in their dreams. |
Freddy was born in 1951 the son of a nun and any one of a hundred
maniacs who raped her. His childhood was filled with the torture
and killing of animals and being teased by other children. He
was often beaten at home by his
stepfather,
until he was older and could fight back.
He grew up without love or compassion and instead learned only ridicule and torment. Never knowing anything else, he became troubled adult. Springwood was not very kind to Freddy. Even as an adult he was tormented by everyone in town, except the children.
He loved to play with the children, but the town didn't approve. They despised him and taunted him with the details of his birth. "Son of hundred maniacs" was only one of many things they tormented Freddy with. They thought he would be no better than whichever insane man was his father. He found no rest in the town he called home.
Eventually the town decided to rid themselves of Freddy Krueger. They gathered a huge mob of people and started to burn
his house. He couldn't leave or the mob outside would have killed him. He was angry and scared and the townspeople were waiting for him to die.
Demons came to Freddy and offered him a second chance. He would not live in this world with those that tormented him. He would be able to live in a dream world where he could play with the children.
He can enter
the dreams of teenagers and play with them without interference from the cruel adults. Freddy can alter
his appearance
in the dream world into anything
wants. This created a whole new array of games for him and the children to play.
His entire body was horribly burned during that fire, and the scars stayed with him even in this new world. He wears his
dirty brown snap-brim fedora hat, a red and green striped sweater,
brown pants, black boots and a glove on his right hand that he made himself.
He has fun in his new world, playing with the children of Elm Street. Some people do find out and try to stop him, but he
always comes back.
