Tommy Hewitt ,more commenly known as Leatherface, lived with his family in a small country town in Texas. They sold BBQ in a gas station along the main road through town. He is horribly disfigured and everyone but his family treated him like a disease when he was younger. Tommy couldn't talk, but he squealed when he was excited.

He became very shy around people and started hiding his face behind leather masks. That is where he got his nickname, Leatherface, from. The Hewitt family looked after Tommy and each other. They didn't like it when strangers picked on Tommy and they made sure that travelers who did were forced out of town.

They were peacefully watching the BBQ stand when a group of rowdy teenagers pulled in for gas. They werenothing but trouble and Tommy's mother just knew they would pick on him. Tommy helped escort the group out of town and many more after that one.

Of course not all of the teenagers that passed through made fun of Tommy or caused trouble. These few were asked to dinner and to stay a little while to visit. Tommy enjoyed these visits with strangers. It was the only time he got to play with anyone.

"Oh, I know your kind. Always cruelty and ridicule for my boy!"
