M. O. Kills those who open the box and traps their souls in hell.

Pinhead was once a human by the name of Elliot Spencer. He was an explorer and a British Army vet who served in World War 1. He was lucky enough to come across a very rare puzzle box, the Lament Configuration. When he opened the box, it showed him a world full of pleasure like nothing he had experienced before.

Elliot changed his name to Pinhead, and began helping people enjoy all the wonders the box had to offer. Some decided to follow him and to help others realize unimaginable joy, and some stayed behind and just enjoyed their own personal world of pleasure.

Not everyone wanted to feel the freedom the box could offer and some even tried to fight it. Pinhead knew what they truly wanted, however, and he has always helped them realize what it is they desire deep down.

There were some people who just would not come around though. They tried to stop Pinhead from sharing his joy with others. He tried to explain to them that the box is opened by those who seek pleasure and freedom and he just tried to help them get it.

Pinhead has been considered an Angel to some, but to others, those that do not understand their own desires, he has been called other names. He takes all of it in stride, knowing that what he is doing is helping those who seek it out.
