Watt got the nickname 'Tex', from a U.S. military stint in Fort Worth, Texas. Though an  indie rocker & professional underground cartoonist (a skill he uses to design his posters & storyboards) ; Tony is known mainly for his acting and film-making efforts. Watt's interest in cinema began (in 2003), when he was a University of Toronto radio talk-show Disc jockey/producer on (the movie-maker showcase radio program) "Cinephiles" (that he soon briefly renamed: "Tex's 15 Minutes" ;before it was cancelled), on CIUT-FM & soon after, began his onscreen career, as a producer/writer/host of the Twisted Sinema t.v. program (which followed the "Cinephiles" radio showcase format, of introducing indie filmmakers projects).

Tony Watt

Soon ( after making an award winning short student film 'Kracula [2003]'), his theatrical feature film career began in 2004 ( as the 'Brimstone Milkman', in his first minor acting role, in the RoboMonkey Production action/horror/sci-fi feature: Sinners and Saints [2004] movie) . His next acting role was as the part of 'Jay' in the Primal Films zombie movie; Zombie Night 2: Awakening (2006) and  as himself in: Primal Film's Reel Zombies (2008) .

Watt's first lead role was the part as Romeo Montague/Patient Zero, in his self-produced and directed feature film called: ' Frankenpimp [2009]'(based on his self-published graphic novel). 'Frankenpimp' was made over four years with 'muse' actress/filmmaker Vivita, who acted as main Co-Writer, Co-Director, Actress, Editor and Co-Producer. Other than making commercials & documentaries , they soon also shared a passion for watching & making cheap exploitation 'genre' movies, such as 'Vixen Highway 2006: It Came From Uranus ![2010],  'Acid Head: The Buzzard Nut's County Slaughter [2011]' and the upcoming 'Tony Watt's Dracula: Sucks It! [2012]' (aka Tony Watt's Dracula); to be followed by 'Frankenpimp's Revenge: The Romeo & Juliet Massacre [2014].
