The Tall Man

The Tall Man was once the kind-hearted Jebediah Morningside. He experimented with inter-dimensional travel and one day perfected his invention. He traveled to a world that was extremely hot and when he came back, he was a changed man.

He worked for mortuaries and helped to take care of the dead as an undertaker. The Tall Man took his duties very seriously and made sure no one interfered with his work. There were some who tried to prevent him from taking care of the dead, but no one gave him more trouble than Mike Pearson. Mike was constantly interrupting The Tall Man's work and was the one who gave him his new name.

The Tall Man tried to show Mike what he did so that he would understand and leave him alone. Mike, however, would not listen and began gathering others to harass the Tall Man. He followed the Tall Man to different cities along with Reggie, Mike's friend and guardian. Every time the Tall Man would try to show Mike his work, Mike refused to listen and the Tall Man would have to move on again.

As Mike got older he started to see things more clearly and eventually the Tall Man was able to explain things to him. Mike, however, still didn't want to believe the Tall Man. The Tall Man knew that Mike would try to find Reggie and continue harassing him, so he followed after Mike. He wanted to at least try to get Mike to leave him alone and he didn't want Mike knowing only half of the information. The Tall Man was patient and could wait for Mike to come around. He knew that he would eventually.

He just wanted to go about his work in peace, dutifully taking care of the dead.
